Holster Fit Guide: IWB vs OWB, Kydex vs Hybrid

Rule #1: The Holster Must Match Your EXACT Model

A holster molded for a Glock 19 will not properly retain a Glock 43X. A "universal" holster is a holster that fits nothing well. Every quality holster is molded for a specific frame, slide length, and often a specific light/optic configuration. Before ordering, know: your exact model and generation, whether you run a weapon light, and whether you carry IWB (inside the waistband, concealed) or OWB (outside, range/duty).

IWB vs OWB in 30 Seconds

IWB — rides inside your pants, against the body. Best concealment, requires a size-up in pants. This is the concealed-carry standard. OWB — rides on the belt outside. Faster draw, more comfortable for long range days, harder to conceal without a cover garment. Many shooters own one of each for the same pistol.
