🔫 AR-15 / M4 Compatible
📐 M-LOK Direct Mount
🪶 Only 1.4 oz
🎯 Ergonomic Angle
🇺🇸 Ships from FL
The Magpul AFG (Angled Fore-Grip) is the foregrip that started a category. Instead of a traditional 90° vertical grip, the AFG positions the support hand at a natural forward-angled stance — reducing wrist fatigue on long shooting sessions while still giving you positive control over the rifle. Mounts directly to any M-LOK rail in seconds.

Why Shooters Choose the Magpul AFG
-
Natural shooting stance. The angled geometry positions your support hand exactly where it wants to be in a modern push-pull grip — no wrist break, no fatigue after 200 rounds.
-
Lower profile than a VFG. At 1.4 oz, the AFG won't tip your rifle forward or add bulk like a traditional vertical grip. It's the choice for shooters who want control without the silhouette.
-
M-LOK direct mount. Two T15 Torx screws attach directly to any M-LOK rail slot. No adapter, no QD interface — just steel-on-polymer security.
-
TSP grip texture. Magpul's Trapezoidal Surface Projection grip pattern delivers positive purchase wet or dry, without abrading your support hand like checkering.
-
Built for serious use. Tested through Magpul's drop, impact, and environmental program. The same construction philosophy that made PMAG the standard makes the AFG bombproof.

ℹ️ State Compatibility: The AFG is a foregrip accessory and is legal in all 50 states for use on rifles. Pistol-configuration AR-15s in restricted states should consult local law — California specifically may classify a vertical or angled foregrip on a pistol as defining an "assault pistol." When in doubt, check with a state-specific firearms attorney.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit my Picatinny rail handguard?
No. This is the M-LOK version of the AFG. If your handguard has Picatinny slots only, you'll need either the Picatinny AFG variant or an M-LOK-to-Picatinny adapter. M-LOK is now the more common rail system on modern AR-15 builds.
How is this different from the AFG2?
The original AFG is what you have here — slightly more pronounced angle, classic shape. The AFG2 is a flatter, lower-profile version designed for shooters who prefer a thumb-over-bore grip style. Both are excellent; original AFG is more versatile for most shooters.
Vertical (VFG) or angled (AFG) — which should I get?
VFG: traditional 90° grip, great for shooters who want a solid hand stop and prefer a "C-clamp" grip style. AFG: angled forward, great for shooters who use a modern push-pull stance with the support hand farther forward. Most newer shooters and competition shooters prefer AFG. Old-school operators often prefer VFG. Try both if you can.
Will it work on a 10.5" SBR or pistol-length barrel?
Yes — the AFG mounts on any M-LOK rail slot. On short-barreled rifles (SBR) or AR pistols, position the AFG 2-3 inches forward of the magwell for optimal control without crowding the muzzle.
How tight should I torque the screws?
Hand-tight + 1/8 turn with a T15 Torx wrench. Magpul recommends 35-40 in-lbs of torque. Over-torquing strips M-LOK polymer slots. Use blue Loctite if the rifle sees heavy use.
